This is a highly valuable vintage Romanian folk apron, believed to be handmade in the 1970s or 1980s. It is a beautiful, pleated traditional apron from the Cluj and Salaj regions of Romania. The Romanian folk apron is made from black wool or wool blend fabric and has been hand-pleated to create a stunning, flowing effect. The pleats are hand-stitched and run vertically down the length of the skirt, while the waist features exquisite embroidery and "bocori" - the vertical embroidery displayed on both sides of the apron .
In Romanian, this traditional handmade apron is called "zadie cu bocori".
The apron measures 74 cm ( 29.13 inches ) in length and has a waist measurement of 41 cm ( 16.14 inches ) (excluding the cord). It is in excellent vintage condition with no holes or repairs, and only minimal signs of wear.
