Vintage Romanian peasant costume from Banat , Carasova costume , handmade costume

Gorgeous antique Romanian  complete costume from Karasova / Carasova Banat. It contains 3 pieces:

extremely hard to find, gorgeous Romanian  dress from Banat, hand embroidered with mainly burgundy - green - aubergine - brown thread on fine commercial cotton fabric , a wrap wool skirt and a wool belt . The hand embroideries are tinny and delicate and splendid hand done. The dress have museum value and it is hand made most probably around 1950-1960.

The linen is fine hand woven linen .Gold and silver thread also decorate the spleendid hand embroideries .

Size M - L or L but check the measurements.

Measurements:

shoulder + sleeve measured from the neckline: 66 cm or 26 inches

around chest: 126 cm or 49. 6 inches

around waist: 126 cm or 49. 6 inches

dress length: 103 cm or 40.55 inches 

Condition: good with minimum traces of the wear, beautiful handmade and preserved. The  lower part of the dress is slightly different in its colour . On one of the shoulders is a tinny repair , check last photo for this . 

The dress is washed, clean and ready to be used. Wash the dress with cold water and mild detergent.

For a dress like this, a woman from the past spent months and months of hand work. She stitched on it her dreams, her emotions, her love, her pride.

2. A wrap skirt hand woven in mainly black wool with green wool thread also. It is a rectangular entire piece which will be fixed around your waist with a needle and the belt.

Age: 60 - 90 years old or more.

Condition: good condition with traces of the wear. Clean.

3. Hand woven wool belt.

For museums or collectors. Extremely scarce.
